JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Engineering Services Manager plans, directs, and coordinates resource activities for both corporate development projects and corporate initiatives.  Ensures the project teams are supported with highly talented teammates who have a depth of technical knowledge in their field of expertise. Leads the development of engineering tools to improve the efficiency of the engineering department. Owns the engineering and project management portion of  the PR process and supports its continuous improvement.  Assists in determining necessary partnerships with outside firms to support project execution timelines.  

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
•Provides leadership and direction for the corporate new product development (NPD) process including guidelines, standards and performance measurements. 
•Leads the weekly NPD pace, coaches and directs teams in the spirit of continuous process improvement; improved new product quality, shortened development cycles, reduced cost to commercialize new products and technologies. Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts that may apply across the project teams.
•Oversees the regulatory requirements per FDA in the area of product development, design control and the engineering change process.
•Provides leadership and direction for the corporate shared engineering services including but not limited to; packaging, engineering policies/procedures, test lab, technical publications and Oracle configuration. 
•Directs department activities to create and modify existing engineering standards to include new product design, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
•Provide vision for emerging technologies based upon Product and Technology Roadmap
•Assist in creating the Technology Roadmaps for each product category.
•Helps to identify risk early in projects to ensure Technical Feasibility is properly performed to help transition projects seamlessly into execution.
•Provides the vision for how and when acquired companies will adopt standard Midmark systems; ie.Oracle, Agile, Creo, etc. 
•Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
•Leads the sustaining effort of products currently in production.  Ensures proper response to change requests from original product specifications.
•Lead the recruiting, on-boarding, and coaching of new teammates into their functional role.
•Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies and gauges uptake into project execution or research.
•Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations.
•Makes recommendations for platform synergy to enhance organizational leverage on cost, quality, and lead time.
•Collaborates with engineering managers, product management, and all other stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables.
•Continuously gathers feedback from all team members to track progress and mitigate risk.
•Tracks departmental KPI’s and uses them to guide continuous improvement action.
•Forecast operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests

SECONDARY DUTIES:
•Provide engineering managers with feedback and development opportunities.
•Plans fitness or resources for execution of projects in portfolio.
•Assists Marketing and Engineering in the proper scoping of projects.
•Collaborate with local site leaders to ensure alignment and drive cross functional projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Project Management or similar.
•Minimum 5 years management/supervision/mentorship experience.
•Engineering or Operations background and process development.
•Applicable certification preferred (PMI) but not required.
•Three years of experience developing products and/or managing engineering projects in a highly regulated environment (medical devices, FDA regulated industry) preferred. 
•Program leadership roles either as a technical lead or project manager preferred.
•Experience in all phases of product development from concept to launch preferred. 
•Experience in developing products designed for manufacturability – background and/or functional knowledge in manufacturing operations preferred.
